Admissions Procedures

Applying families are strongly encouraged to participate in a campus tour.  Tours are conducted Monday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and noon.  Please contact Christina Hickman in the Office of Admissions at 301.770.5335 ext. 212 to schedule an appointment.

Shadow days are also available for middle and high school students.  Guests are matched with a peer representative based on academic interests. They will be given the opportunity to participate in exceptional academic programs and experience the welcoming Montrose environment.  Shadow Days are scheduled when school is in full session. Please contact Christina Hickman in the Office of Admissions at 301.770.5335 ext. 212 to schedule an appointment.

After your campus tour, complete the following procedures. All application materials are due February 22, 2008.

1. Complete and submit Montrose Christian School’s Application for Admission.
   Include the $250 non-refundable registration fee. Download the application here.
2. Authorize release of applicant’s current school records to MCS.
   Complete the Montrose Transcript Release Form and return it to the applicant’s current school. Click here to download the Transcript Release Form. The applicant's current school will forward copies of all report cards, standardized testing results, transcripts and immunization records to Montrose Christian School.
3. Submit student recommendation forms to current teacher(s).
   K-5^th grade applicants should have their current homeroom teacher fill out one Student Recommendation Form.  6-12^th grade applicants should have their current Math and English teacher fill out a Student Recommendation Form. Click here to download the Student Recommendation Form.  Teachers must return the completed form(s) directly to Montrose Christian School in a sealed envelope.  Forms carried by parents or guardians will not be accepted.  
4. Take a standardized entrance exam.
   Entrance exams are administered at Montrose Christian School and may be scheduled by contacting the Office of Admissions at 301.770.5335 ext. 212.
5. Apply for financial aid. (Optional)
   Financial aid is need-based and must be applied for each year. Application are available from the Business Office; call 301.770.5335 ext. 215. Families can also go online to apply at www.nais.org/financialaid/sss.

After all application materials are received, the applicant will be contacted for an interview with one of our principles. Applicants who are interviewed on their Shadow Day need not schedule an additional interview. Decision letters will be mailed out within a week of the student’s interview.
